Corpus Callosum

This piece is part of the Color-in Series. The shapes are buildings from a map I found that I embellished, cut out and placed on paper. They remind me of the two hemispheres of the brain. "Corpus Callosum" refers to the bundles of nerves that connects the two hemispheres and allows them to communicate with each other.

Color-in Book

This book is part of the "Color-in Series" in that I simply color-in certain images I find. There is a comfort and safety in coloring between lines - boundaries are already set, but you have the freedom to do what you wish within those boundaries. It's rather reminiscent of childhood.
The book itself was printed in the 1969 and titled Urban Planning Aspects of Water pollution Control. The only connection I can see between the subject and coloring-in is the desire to change something rather stale into an almost decorative object. To make it rough and inconsistent - like nature.

Freckles

This one is rather silly, but I've recently become obsessed with the freckle pattern on my arms. I suppose as a women, I am just exhibiting the usual obesession one has with her body and its possible imperfections. The ideal is to have perfectly clear skin. I now just view these marks as natural tattoes.
